Alex Hiatt is a Calgary-born and raised physiotherapist with a passion for helping people move with confidence and get back to the activities they love. Her background in soccer, basketball, and rugby, along with years of working alongside physiotherapists as an athlete, sparked her interest in the profession from a young age. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary and her Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Alberta. Alex works with a wide range of musculoskeletal and athletic injuries, with a particular interest in return to sport, exercise, and the activities that matter most to her patients. She especially enjoys working with gym-goers to improve lifting and exercise technique, helping them move efficiently, maximize their training, and get more out of the work they are already putting in. Her approach focuses on understanding the bigger picture behind pain and movement dysfunction, combining hands-on treatment, targeted exercise, education, and progressive rehabilitation to build long-term results. Alex also specializes in pelvic health physiotherapy, with a particular interest in pelvic and sacroiliac pain, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and pelvic floor dysfunction. She works with individuals experiencing pelvic pain, bowel and bladder concerns, sexual health concerns, and the physical changes that can occur throughout pregnancy and postpartum. She is especially passionate about supporting people through the postpartum return to exercise. Alex created and leads Foundations, a physio-led postpartum group training program designed to bridge the gap between early postpartum recovery and returning to regular exercise. She is passionate about creating a supportive, judgment-free environment where postpartum individuals can understand their symptoms, listen to their bodies, and progress their exercise safely and confidently. Alex takes a holistic and individualized approach to physiotherapy, working with each person to understand their goals and develop a plan that fits their life. She is also certified in Functional Dry Needling and may incorporate this technique as an adjunct to treatment when appropriate. Outside of the clinic, Alex can usually be found with a coffee and a good book, checking out the local theatre scene, hiking or biking, or exploring the mountains.
